Spring

Spring into Spring am I right?!  My 100 Day Project started January 1st and took me all the way to April 10th. I am very excited I sold 27 paintings so far from the project. What is next after painting 100 paintings? Well I also had started two collections. A Spring collection,"The Flower Girls". 

Available for purchase on Instagram on May Day. Who will you leave flowers to on May Day, Sunday May 1, 2022? My time with Alice's Table is the nourishment for these paintings.

The second collection, a Summer collection due out on the Solstice, Tuesday June 21, 2022 it is called "MidSummer" and it is everything you feel from the sunshine. I can't wait to share it with you.

100 Day Project

 Hi

In my last blog I wrote to you about starting a 100 Day Project.  I am currently on painting 59. I hope you are following along. If not follow me now as we are smack dab in the middle.  I  wanted to share with you my favorites from the first 50 paintings.

My work is energy and what; people, places, things, pass through my life; what fills me up and the emotions that come from my experiences.

I clearly remember the day I painted this. Please read my Instagram caption. It was cold out. I had too many bags to carry and my shoulders hurt from the weight of all the bags. I wanted to cry and I wanted a ride. I wanted someone to take care of me. You have those days, right?!  The sun came out and lit up the air with warmth. I kept telling myself I can do this and I took deep breathes and I finished the walk home from the train, through the snow, on the ice and I slept good that night. I think this painting was the release of the energy getting me home. The sun had my back and I could feel it.

What I like best about this painting is the bold yellow against the blues. I am going into my 26th year as a painter. What I have discovered about myself... What I know about the pieces that are line work; the lines have to connect. If there is open space I need a connection somewhere between the lines. I also know I don't like much white space I need to fill it up. I need everything to connect. It makes me think about how lives are sometimes parallel and then there is a connection, a coincidence, a small world, fate, destiny, kismet. Where will your life line take you?

I am in love with this piece. Painted with a trowel that I saved from my dad's belongings. He had so many tools. I'm sure he was using this trowel for cement and not paint. The trowel is skinny and I like the leggy strokes that are created when I use it.  This painting feels so much to me like the beach. The little vacations with friends, jumping up when the wave comes and the roller coaster in my stomach feeling of fun as the weight of the water moves me, crashes over me. .. my happy place.

Year Of The Tiger

 Hello,

The Lunar New Year is upon on us and it is the year of the Tiger representing courage and strength. I think this is my first tiger drawing ever. I looked up tiger drawings on Pinterest and found one I wanted to replicate. 

The one brave thing I have done and am currently working on is my 100 Day Project. I started on January 1, 2022. I am painting 100, 9x12, acrylic on paper. Each painting is for sale for $10.oo + Shipping and will be available for shipping after the 100 days. I am currently on painting 51.  You can follow along as I post a painting everyday on Instagram. This project has really kept my creativity fueled. I feel that I my abstractions are improving everyday and the extra sketching is just good practice. Maybe some of these pieces will end up in my Society6 shop??

Once I finish this 100 project I will start a new collection. I hope to be done by Spring.

Love Songs

I love music. Can't live without music! Not so long ago I created a little batch of paintings on paper of music lyrics, they were matted on white board as well.  I used some favorite songs and some feel good lyrics. 

For this season of love; my third collection is Love Songs. I created paintings; acrylic on paper, 16x20 matted on white board. This collection I chose the most passionate, lovey lyrics that will give you that "IN LOVE" vibe. I hope these pieces will spark a memory or create a new one. The color palette is bright reds, pinks, deep purples, light blues, Summer greens and yellow gold like fire. I spend a lot of time listening to music and going to concerts. Sometimes I play one song on repeat for days and days. I'm pretty sure my neighbors get exhausted of loud blaring music, but I need it loud to tune out my singing as I am trying to belt out every song. Music is often my muse. Hearts 2022

Everyone gears up for the end of year festivities, but that's not my holiday.  I'm Autumn pumpkins and Winter hearts. I have changed my hearts a little bit this year.  I have painted mini hearts, 4x4, acrylic on canvas instead of 5x7 flat canvases. They are still $5.oo each. I am happy to share my LoveBirds Collection. Just in time for Valentine's Day.  This is a little collection with little paintings.  Each painting is 10x10, acrylic on canvas and $50.oo each.  Hello December.

I hope you are having fun and planning fun festive experiences for yourself. One of my traditions every Winter season is to make wreaths with my family. We get evergreens, tie them up as a swag or make them into a wreath. We go to a nearby nursery to get bows and pinecones and fancy, sparkly embellishments to decorate our wreaths and swags with. The nursery roasts chestnuts and it's festive feeling with all the Christmas trees that smell so good and fresh.
