I’m going to galleries that I hope one day I can show my
work at. I went to Jackson Junge Gallery in Wicker Park that hosted Taste The
Paintings Exhibit. The reception had
different cocktails to sample that went along with the exhibit theme. First, I
never drink and I thought sure have a
sample of sparkling wine and the sangria margarita; they are only samples, the
size of a Dixie cup. They were potent! The strength of two shots. Now that’s how you throw a reception! The paintings were fun and the space was
bright and filling up with guests. The
pieces were creative and the paintings had such great detail. Some of the paintings reminded me the Wizard
Of Oz; happy, cheerful little characters in some the work. Here are pictures from the exhibit.

This piece paint strokes were so smooth. I liked how clean the background is. |
This sculpture made me think of trying to get to the moon. |
This sculpture was perfect. |
I like this one, because of the sea theme. |
Even though this was not part of the featured exhibit; it was my favorite piece in the gallery. A painting done on silk. |
I liked this painting, because it was of a place I know well. I sit at that L stop weekly. |
This piece also reminded me of my daily life. I liked the light hue of blue. |
What liked about this painting i s the cracked background and the red cherries. At least I see red cherries. |
This is like the yellow brick road. |
Guests beginning to file into the gallery. |
Owls are always intriguing subjects for artists.
My favorite part about this is the hockey players. |
I loved this character. The keg, he was squat like a pumpkin. |
The gallery offers many prints and cards of their pieces. Its located at 1389 North Milwaukee, Chicago Illinois 60622 and is open daily 11-8pm, (Sunday hours are 12-5pm) which is extremely nice. A lot of art studios and galleries are only open by appointment or are on banker hours. The next exhibit is in May. I hope to make the reception. You should too!
